Sometimes the best place to hide your valuables is in plain sight. You can make an in-home safe from a return air grille in just minutes with some rare earth magnets and a few drywall screws.

What you'll need:

1 Return Air Grille (matching the others in your home-both size and style

4  Rare earth magnets (either 3/8" or 1/2")

4 Drywall screws (1 5/8")

About 30 minutes

Directions:

1.   Cut an opening for the grille between two studs.

2.   Cut the heads off of the screws that came with them and super glue them into the screw holes.

3.   Mark the outline of the grille with masking tape, then screw the     1-5/8" drywall screws 1/4" in from each corner.

4.   Put magnets in the corners of the grille, then turn the screws in or out until the grille stays flush against the wall. (The rare earth magnets are strong enough to hold the grille firmly, as long as they contact the screws).

5.   Smile - you've just created a new hiding spot for your valuables!
